UPDATE: WE WON ONE, JUAN! WE FINALLY WON ONE JUAN? WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE WON ONE, JUAN? (I love Pete Holmes.)
Holy hell, that’s some scary shit. I hope he ends up ok.
I got stuck working this weekend. I’ve done about 15 hours so far and it might not be over. So, I haven’t had time to do a proper Open Thread. Here’s the condensed version: my team sucks, will probably lose, and there’s a bunch of games.
Hopefully none of youse guys are working today. I’m going to go for a drive to clear my head and listen to the Broncos find new and exciting ways to lose.

Bears choked in London to the Raiders. Nothing else matters.

We finally won, against the Cardinals of the Midwest.

I’m done with the falcons for the season. Dan Quinn probably won’t make it to the end either

That’s rough. It’s particular concerning to see Foster (I think?) patting Rudolph’s chest and lifting his arm, as if he’s checking if Foster if checking if Rudolph is there at all. Plus Smith-Schu ster just collapsing.

I really hate seeing hits where someone seizes up like that. That’s a “take a year off of football” hit.
Holy shit, there was another one just now in the Broncos-Chargers game. A cornerback for the Broncos took a direct head shot from another Broncos player. I haven't seen him move since.

I did not see that coming. I thought the F alcons would be a decent team this year. But then again I didn't think the Broncos would be 0-4 to start either.

I grew up in DC in the 80's when the Redskins were a powerhouse. Ever since Dan S ny der bought them they’ve been awful. My son’s generation hates the Redskins (or doesn’t even think about them).
I think the franchise is in for a rude awakening as the old die-hard fans, well, die. The new generation only knows them as losers. Which they pretty much have been for 15-20 years now. There is no loyalty, or even interest, in the Skins from anyone under the age of 25 around here.
It’s a sad state of affairs in DC for football. And there’s no hope on the horizon (like a lot of things in DC these days).

You’d think Dan Snyder would figure out by now that he’s pretty terrible at running a football team. We were so lucky to have Pat Bowlen here.

Yeah, not going to win many games with 220 yards of offense. The last time the Redskins were good, I was in middle school. About the same as the Lions, really.

I know that my Patriots are 5-0 and that I shouldn’t complain, but the offense is really hurting. Tons of injuries, Brady won’t stop complaining, and the offensive line is a mess. I’m worried about Brady’s health against some actual talented D-lines if they stick with Moorehouse. He’s going to get Brady crunched.
That Patriots defense is legitimate though. 220 yards allowed, 1 INT, 1 fumble/recovery, and 6 sacks - all about average this season so far against middling competition. The only QB they’ve faced this season is B ig Ben in week 1. Everyone else has been a rookie, backup, or a backup rookie. Best thing I did all year was pick up NE Def in fantasy. It’s not even close.

It’s like having all the ingredients to make a recipe but you don’t follow the steps properly. We could easily be 4-1 or at least 3-2 but somethings just not clicking

You know the Patriots are still a thing, right? Good luck with that. (No, seriously, good luck with that. Somebody needs to stop them.)

You could be describing the Broncos right now. I’m still surprised they didn’t find a way to give away the game, but then again they were playing the Chargers, who also love to lose games they should win.

I would pump the brakes on that. The Falcons have given up over 24 points to Gardner Minshew, Carson Wentz, Jacoby Brisset, and Kirk Cousins. Their defense should be sponsored by Lactaid because even the soft serve offenses seem to go right through them.
Edit: Side note - the road will go through New England and there’s no way a Bill O’Brien team drops even 30 on that nasty Patriots defense.

If I were you, I’d be nervous about the potential of facing the Chiefs again. I know, Andy Reid and the playoffs don’t usually mix, but I think they might be able to knock off the Pats this year.

12/8 is marked on my calendar. That game has all the trimmings of an epic showdown and playoff preview. I just worry the two teams will kill each other in the regular season. It’s a fascinating matchup.
Chiefs: Firepower offense, negligent defense.
Patriots: Aging & injured offense, currently a record breaking defense.

To be fair, they weren’t great for much of the ‘90s before Snyder took over either. We are talking only 5 playoff appearances and only two playoff wins in the past 26 years (counting this year as a non-playoff season, which is a strong bet), with the most recent playoff win 14 years ago .
And yeah, there’s no reason to believe it’s going to get better anytime soon.
